Pawprint #1: Meeting my humans

A kitten's new home

My humans adopted me when I was 9 weeks old. I was playing with my brothers and sisters when two strangers (my soon to be humans) suddenly appeared! I was afraid, so I hid behind the sofa. But moments later, my previous human grabbed me and put me in the sofa. The strangers touched me, and it was okay. I just sat there and played with the fingers tickling me, and I didn't scratch them. The next thing I remember, I was entering a box (inside were some comfy cloth and paper cushion).

We traveled a long way. I was really scared that I could hear my miaus echoing around the train station. Along the way, I saw a lot of humans who looked at me; some wanted to touch me. It made me more nervous! My new humans checked me from time to time, so I felt a little safe. They were wondering if I was cold. It was spring then. I did shiver a little, but I was more worried of the foreign world I was seeing.

At my new home, I hesitated to get out of my cage. Well, I did get out later, but then, the fear came back, and to the cage I went back too. There, I stayed until my new female human put a bowl of water and some food just a few steps away. I couldn't resist to have a lick of water, so I went for it! I then ventured through the alien room and finally found refuge behind the curtains.
