Pawprint #7: A weird kitten behind the wall

The kitten and the mirror

There's a strange wall in our house. Every time that I stay or play in front of it, another cat is there, staring back at me and always copying whatever I do. Until now, I can't understand why he does that. I couldn't smell his scent or hear his miaus. My humans never allowed me to go behind that wall, so I still haven't met him cat-to-cat. I thought I would be alone in this house forever until Kauni arrived.

Pawprint #6: My first mouse

The white mouse squeaks.
I bite it, I scratch it.
Sometimes I use a trick.
Always, I could easily clutch it.
Miau!

Pawprint #5: Sunbathing

I love sunbathing... indoors!

When I was a kitty, dust particles in rays of light interest me a lot. Shadows play with me too during sunny days. I wonder why the sun rays aren't appearing much lately. The sky is gray most of the time.

Pawprint #4: Brush, brush

After a week with my new humans, I met a cat doctor. It was my first time to be in a clinic. I got really nervous that I couldn't remember what else happened.

The next day, my humans did something to my canines. I guess it was the doctor's fault. The  paste in my mouth tasted nice, but the brush was really annoying! I didn't like being held in the face and neck too.

To my disappointment, I discovered later that  this dreadful thing is going to happen again and again. Lucky me, the second time was more bearable. My humans learned they have to take it easy at first: no brush for the first few weeks, just the gentle finger and the paste until I became used to it. Now I enjoy the brushing time a lot, and I always get a reward of another yummy treat!

Pawprint #2: First meal alone

During my first few days in my new abode, I misssed my litter-mates a lot. It's weird because back at my previous place, we fought as much as we played with each other, and I didn't care. On my first night, I miaued a lot until my throat got tired and irritated. I didn't even have the appetite for food. But on the next day I was so hungry I got to eat some. Thankfully, the food smelled and tasted familiar.

Well, I couldn't help myself scratch around the dish.. just following my instinct. I still do this now.

Pawprint #1: Meeting my humans

A kitten's new home

My humans adopted me when I was 9 weeks old. I was playing with my brothers and sisters when two strangers (my soon to be humans) suddenly appeared! I was afraid, so I hid behind the sofa. But moments later, my previous human grabbed me and put me in the sofa. The strangers touched me, and it was okay. I just sat there and played with the fingers tickling me, and I didn't scratch them. The next thing I remember, I was entering a box (inside were some comfy cloth and paper cushion).

We traveled a long way. I was really scared that I could hear my miaus echoing around the train station. Along the way, I saw a lot of humans who looked at me; some wanted to touch me. It made me more nervous! My new humans checked me from time to time, so I felt a little safe. They were wondering if I was cold. It was spring then. I did shiver a little, but I was more worried of the foreign world I was seeing.

At my new home, I hesitated to get out of my cage. Well, I did get out later, but then, the fear came back, and to the cage I went back too. There, I stayed until my new female human put a bowl of water and some food just a few steps away. I couldn't resist to have a lick of water, so I went for it! I then ventured through the alien room and finally found refuge behind the curtains.
